It’s become a bit of a quandary in my life.Īnyway, what might finally get me to leap on buying the damn thing is, of all things, the new songs included in the GTA V updates for Xbox One. That said, the GTA V updates for Xbox One and PS4 look so damn snazzy (FPS mode… ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!) and Rockstar’s marketing is so fucking seductive to an impulsive person like me that I’m not sure what to do. But I know I don’t need it, especially since I already beat it on 360. The twisted adventures of Michael, Trevor, and Franklin are stuck there. Maybe it’s just the shiny new thrill of owning a new system, but I can’t get GTA out of my head. I can’t wait to buy the Halo: The Master Chief Collection when it comes out. I beat Sunset Overdrive last week (loved it) and am ranking up like crazy in Advanced Warfare. Fast forward a year: I own an Xbox One now. Installed that stupidly big map update (had to buy a hard drive for my 4GB Xbox just for it), played it for countless hours, beat it, loved it, then tucked it away in my box of video games, where I assume it will sit… forever. Last year I bought GTA V for Xbox 360 on opening night. See, here’s my dilemma, which I’m sure is one many-a Bro is having over the game’s next-gen rerelease. This might still not enable MP via GFWL.Not going to lie, I’ve been EXTREMELY conflicted on whether or not to buy Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One over the last few days. The game will now play the correct song in the first mission, but only if you don't skip the cutscene. If you need a video guide on how to do step 3, check this one out: (You could also just rename the game folder when an update is available, let Steam update it and then delete the new folder and rename the old one back the way it was) GTA IV will never be able to update again, but that's the price you pay. If you can't find them, they are steamapps folder before you go into common, so steam\steamappsĬlose Steam, make them read-only, and restart Steam. Go to appmanifest_12210.acf for base game and 12220 for Episodes and change the following so they look like this, in both (I used notepad , as normal notepad can be strange or cause problems when editing certain extensions): In case that post ever gets deleted, I'll copy-paste what it says here: Step 5: In your steam library, right-click GTA 4 Complete, Properties, Updates and choose Only update this game when I launch it (it might be possible now to avoid updates if you launch steam in offline mode, and then switch to online after it's already running, but this is untested or you can just follow A_Sweatband's instructions from his/her comment: ). (overwrite everything since you should already have the game installed) Step 4: Move the contents (only the folders, not the files in the root directory!!!) of the GTAIV folder that you can find inside into your GTAIV folder from SteamLibrary. (don't try this via the old method using the console, it doesn't work anymore) After you write it (careful, no spaces), it will download the files inside a folder called depots. The app will ask for your steam guard code sent to your email or mobile authenticator. Note: You can't use the depotdownloader trick for EFLC because they removed your EFLC license from your Steam account when they merged the 4
